STORY

A Stone Chapel Quietly Stands in the Depth of the Forest

The chapel is recognized as one of the signature works of the world-class architect Jun Itami.
He designed it with the image of a climbing kiln in mind.
“My prayer is that couples who get married here carefully and loving shape their own future, creating something special, in much the same way that potters pour their souls into a masterpiece.”
The highest quality Japanese granite was chosen for the building.
Over the course of three years, master stonemasons, working under the supervision of Mr. Itami, meticulously assembled this remarkable chapel. Using rare Japanese granite stones—each varying in color and form—they built it piece by piece with extraordinary care. The result is a one-of-a-kind expression of artistry and devotion, a powerful embodiment of their collective passion.
The strength of buildings made in this way increases over time.
This symbolizes the journey that couples who marry here are about to embark on—a path where, over many years, they will need to support one another and build a love and trust that grows ever deeper and more enduring.
